GROW originated as a way to revitalize and bolster the rate of economic growth in Hopkins County. Our mission is to fully utilize our collaborative partners and resources to raise the education and skill level of our workforce. This will provide a better-trained and qualified workforce that will enhance the lives of our citizenry and support our economic development efforts. Many major players in the county have become involved in the GROW project and are putting forth time and effort to ensure the program is successful. Led by the Madisonville/Hopkins County Economic Development Corporation, these organizations and individuals come from diverse backgrounds. The group includes numerous business and industry representatives and educational organizations.
The program involves implementing an education strategy based on a public awareness program. The program is initially focused on those citizens who are in need of their high school diploma, and as it develops, the program will also encourage participants to further their education by gaining associate's and bachelor's degrees.
